Project State Files (STATE.md)

In one line: An optional generated repository snapshot, not a substitute for priorities, blockers or deployment evidence.

The shipped templates/scripts/generate-state-md.sh observes recent local commits, a bounded list of visible open GitHub PRs, and branch/HEAD. It explicitly leaves deployment and migration state not assessed. Its generation date does not verify the application.

Current focus, accountable owners, next actions and unresolved decisions belong in the maintained plan/work tracker. Deployment, activation and acceptance require their own environment-specific or business-owner evidence. A combined handover identifies each source instead of relabelling Git activity “Last Shipped.”

STATE.md is generated or absent. If used, refresh it when repository observations are useful, keep private titles within their authorized audience, and stage output safely before replacement. A still-valid blocker is not obsolete merely because it is old.
